The Council's Core Strategy From the past to the future - following the recent public consultation, a final version of the document will now be created for submission to government in May 2009. In the meantime, you may still wish to refer to the current draft of The Core Strategy containing the planning policies proposed for the next 20 years. Lewes Road and London Road are among 7 areas where a higher density of development is proposed.
Carelet: Round Hill residents await the result of Carelet's current Appeal, but will the developer wait for it before submitting a fifth proposal? They withdrew their second Appeal and quickly registered a fourth proposal very similar to their third. They did not wait for the result of their Appeal on their first proposal before submitting their second. A Dump with no space for landscaping - The Case Officer, who was "minded to grant planning permission", knew that the Council as landlord had not given Veolia enough land. This was not made clear in the Plans List presented to those who took the decision. We are left with an eyesore - a very unfortunate case of 'urban cramming'.

Draft SPD on Sustainable Building Design - The consultation period on this important planning document is now closed. The proposed SPD sets tighter requirements in line with greater concern about carbon emissions and wasteful use of raw materials, water and energy.
